Ditch the big-box stores! These DIY sock pumpkins are quick, affordable, and the perfect addition to your fall decor.
Supplies:
- Sock (one sock per pumpkin)
- Filling/stuffing
- Ideas include cotton balls, yarn scraps, fabric scraps, toilet paper, poly-fil, old shirts, old socks, or anything soft and pliable.
- Cinnamon stick (aka the pumpkin stem)
- Twine/yarn/string
- Scissors
Instructions
- Stuff your sock with soft filling so it becomes a “pumpkin”.
- Place the stuffed sock on the twine, with the “open” side of the sock on top.
- Section your stuffed sock into four quadrants with the twine (similar to wrapping a gift box, where the twine crisscrosses on the bottom).

4. Place the cinnamon stick in the “open” top of the sock, for the stem.
5. Wrap your leftover twine around the cinnamon stick to hold it in place.

6. Make a bow and cut off any excess twine.

Now you have an adorable pumpkin for home decor or gifts!

I hope you enjoyed this simple craft. The first step towards a sustainable lifestyle is creating from what we already own, rather than consuming.
